A cooperation protocol was signed between Abdullah Gül University (AGU) and Ardahan City Council, under which joint work will be carried out for the workshop program on sustainable development goals within the framework of climate change.The protocol was signed by Prof. Dr. Cengiz Yılmaz, the Rector of AGU, and Burak Taştan, President of Ardahan City Council.With the protocol between the two institutions, within the framework of United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, joint activities will be carried out including topics such as climate change, water footprint, carbon footprint, food waste, quality of Education, Culture, sustainability, smart cities and communities, clean energy, terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.Within the scope of the protocol, studies will also be conducted on teachers working at all levels in Ardahan and the trainings that will be given to students studying in primary, secondary and high schools.
A cooperation protocol has been signed between AGU and the Municipality of Goreme in Nevşehir, one of the important tourism centers of Turkey. Ömer Eren, Mayor of Goreme visited AGU Rektor Prof. Dr. Cengiz Yılmaz at his office. The protocol was signed between Mayor Eren and Rektor Yılmaz. According to the protocol, AGU and Goreme Municipality will carry out cooperation activities in areas such as education, science, art, culture, health, sports, research, collaborative project development and implementation activities.
The book "Examining Complex Intergroup Relations Through the Lens of Turkey" has been released, and it includes a chapter co-authored by Sümeyra Bengisu Akkurt, one of the research assistants of the AGU Department of Psychology. The book, edited by Dr Hüseyin Çakal and Dr Shenel Husnu, looks at the context of Turkey, which is home to a diverse range of social, ethnic, and religious groups, through the lens of social and political psychology. We congratulate Bengisu on her contribution to the chapter titled "Missing the good old days or connecting to the globe: Investigating out-group attitudes through collective nostalgia and global identification" in this excellent book.
The Department of Architecture of Abdullah Gül University (AGU) and District Governorship of Avanos co-organized "Workshop on Sustainable Development Goals in Education" at Avanos Güray Museum as part of the project "Düşyeri Avanos" (Dreamland Avanos).Prof. Burak Asiliskender, Chair of the Department of Architecture, Dr. Sinan Akyüz, and Dr. Sümeyra Ayık discussed the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals with a focus on education.The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), implemented by the UN, are a universal call to eradicate poverty, save the planet, and ensure that all people live in peace and prosperity. In this line, the 17 goals tackle the universal needs holistically. Besides building on the success of the Millennium Development Goals, they address new priorities and areas, such as climate change, economic inequality, innovation, sustainable consumption, and peace and justice.
AGU Psychology has collaborated Yeşilay Counselling Center (YEDAM) to raise AGU students' awareness about addiction types; we have planned to organize a symposium to enable that.

A paper titled “A paper titled “International collaboration in teaching innovation: Psychology Around the World (PAW) study protocol” have been presented at the International Conference of Teaching Innovation in Oviedo, Spain, between the dates of 24th-25th January 2022. What is more, it is planned to present the same paper in another upcoming conference, namely 8th International Conference on Higher Education. Thus, it will be a great opportunity to share the results of the project and understand inter-cultural sensitivities across countries.
AGU Department of Psychology students has come together with Glasgow Caledonian University Scotland UK, and the University of Balearic Island’s psychology students online, as a program “Psychology Around the World, organized by Abdullah Gül University, Department of Psychology. As part of the program, AGU psychology students have had a chance to interact with their counterparts in different regions of the world and have exchanged their opinions about getting psychology education in English, job opportunities in their countries, and what kind of issues psychology as a discipline struggling with within their countries. They have also conducted interviews about psychology education in their country and have learnt how to analyze interviews with qualitative analysis methodologies.
